Partypoker Updates Software Ahead of Expected Pennsylvania Launch
Last week, partypoker finished a large-scale update to its US network and software in anticipation of moving into more markets. These changes to partypoker US, BetMGM Poker, and Borgata Poker have introduced a “streamlined look” with “customizable” features.
With online gambling slowly gaining traction in the United States, poker and sportsbook operators are hoping to corner the market swiftly with unique offerings. While four states have legalized online poker outright, more are hoping to gain revenues by allowing more options.
At the moment, Pennsylvania is next on the list for partypoker while it waits for a license approval from the Gaming Control Board.
Changes to partypoker
Several changes are now up and running over the partypoker network, including a new table layout that players can customize. Also, there are brand-new tournament offerings to give players a wider choice of competitions.
Another significant change is the display of tournament chip stacks for big blinds to help tournament gameplay functionality. However, the “run it twice” option is still missing for US players, while international competitors can use it.
Since it was chased out of the US in 2006 on Black Friday, the brand has also introduced some other features:
- Creating balanced policies for the analysis tools it uses.
- Using player feedback to adjust tournament structures.
- A progressive “Rakeback system” similar to the “poker boom years.”
- Volume-based promotions for professional players.
- Updates to security to crack down on fake accounts for bots.
Ready to Launch
Reportedly, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s Chief Enforcement Council Cyrus Pitre confirmed that partypoker’s license will be up for consideration in August.
During the most recent meeting of the board, Pitre said that it will be considered before the next meeting.
However, there’s no guarantee whether partypoker and Roar (the company behind it) will get a license. Still, BetMGM will undoubtedly want to get its online casino running as soon as it gets a permit.
